Wills

Wills are one of the fundamental building blocks of an estate plan and are the most basic of estate planning tools. Wills provide the opportunity to determine who inherits estate assets. Wills do not provide the same level of control as other estate planning tools, but they still have a vital role to play in the legacy plans made by many people who wish to express preferences for the disposition of assets after death.

At the law firm of Morris Hall, PLLC, our legal team provides assistance in creating comprehensive, legally valid wills. Our firm can explain how a will should fit within a cohesive legacy plan. We will advise you on the technical aspects of creating a will and work with you to ensure that your will contains the clauses you need to protect your family and assets.

Because wills can be contested and because you could lose the opportunity to control your legacy if your will is declared invalid, it is important to work with an experienced attorney in creating your last will and testament. MH estate planning attorneys can advise you on the legal steps that must be taken to create a legally valid will, as well as on alternative estate planning tools that can be utilized instead of, or in addition to, a last will and testament.

We also provide advice on complex areas of the law that allow you to enhance the protection and control what a typical will can provide. For example, wills can be used to create testamentary trusts, and our legal team will advise you on the appropriateness of taking such an action as well as on the technical requirements associated with this type of trust creation. This is just one of many examples of the ways in which our law firm can help in creating a cohesive plan for you and your family.
