Planning Man

October 17, 2014 by Morris Hall, PLLC Leave a Comment

I am a big fan of Billy Joel’s music.  He is able to tell a story with each song he writes and performs, and does so in a way that is catchy.  One of my all-time favorite songs is Piano Man.  So I felt like I could tell the story of what I do, and do so in a way that pays tribute to one of the all-time song-writers.   So below is my Wierd Al Yankovich-style parody, that I have named Planning Man (to the music of Piano Man):

It’s six o’clock on a Thursday
The regular crowd shuffles in
They are all here for our Seminar
And I am ready to begin

I hear, “What can we expect to learn tonight?
I think that there’s nothing much to do.
You see I don’t have all that much
Can you tell me if that’s really true?

La la la, did di da, la la did di da, la dum

I’m gonna sing you a song,
I’m the Planning Man
I’ll sing you a song tonight
You all came here for Information
And you’ll head home feelin’ alright

Now we’re here to talk about your estate
To see what it all entails
It’s your cash and home
And all that you own
Plan so it does not fail

I hear, “Jim, I believe I don’t need your help
No matter what you say
What I have is quite simple
I won’t have it any other way”

Oh, La la la, did di da, la la did di da, la dum

And some of you have a plan in place
And it may sound really right
But when you dig into the nuts & bolts
You may not fall asleep tonight

You see there are things lurking out there
That you may not be aware
Lawsuits, Divorce and Medicaid
Do you think the Government cares?!?!

I’m gonna sing you a song,
I’m the Planning Man
I’ll sing you a song tonight
You all came here for Information
And you’ll head home feelin’ alright

You’re a pretty good crowd for Thursday
And I hope you took it all in
Cause I shared a lot of information
Forgetting it would be a sin

And it’s time to get your plan in place
It’s time when you know that you can
If it’s too late, there not much to do
Though they call me the Planning Man

Oh, La la la, did di da, la la did di da, la dum

I sang you a song,
I’m the Planning Man
I sang this song tonight
I gave you a bunch of Information
So Plan with me and you’ll be alright.

Be on watch for the music video.  And look for an upcoming seminar in your area.
