Estate Tax in Limbo…Still, 6/23/2010

2010 has seen the estate tax law fall into a state of limbo. What does that mean? For anyone who might pass away this year, it means no federal estate tax. What does it mean for those of us who won’t pass away in 2010?

At Morris Hall we have been keeping abreast of the current status of the estate tax law and listening for potential changes. It is generally assumed that Congress will pass a bill before the end of the year in order to clarify things going forward. If this happens, you can be certain Morris Hall will inform you regarding the decision they reach and how it may affect you and your estate.

In order to ensure your estate is protected and current with recent law changes, it is best to consult with one of our attorneys to confirm your estate is being handled in the best way possible and with the least possible tax implications.

Your Morris Hall trust contains the most comprehensive and current provisions that were available at the time of its execution. However, there have been recent law changes that likely affect your documents. If you have not updated your documents since 2007, it is important you schedule a free consultation with an Morris Hall attorney to ensure your documents are updated to comply with the current legal requirements.

Just as we have helped you establish a personal estate plan in the past, Morris Hall will continue to be here for you in the future . If you have questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us.
