I recently attended a networking luncheon with an esteemed friend who has served as a mentor to me. He, too, practices estate planning. After chit-chatting for awhile about our practices, he turned to me and said, “We have the best jobs around — we get to work with such great clients everyday!” I could not agree more!
As I poured over books in law school I kept trying to remind myself that the practice of law truly revolves around people, and while the end goal of law school was to obviously pass my classes and ultimately the bar, I knew that my job would one day be to help people solve their problems. It was a dream come true on the first day I got to meet with clients, and it has been a daily privilege ever since.
For example, I had the privilege of meeting with a recently widowed, young mother who was trying to pick up all the pieces after the unexpected death of her husband. Our firm helped to create a plan that will allow her to rest assured that if something happens to her, guardians are in place for her children and a beneficiary trust will ensure they have the funds they will need as they grow.
I’ve also had the privilege of meeting with an entrepreneur who was looking to expand his current business. Our firm helped to create an asset protection plan that would allow him to grow his business without worrying about potential business creditors trying to take his personal assets.
Most recently I had the privilege of meeting with the world’s proudest grandparents and hearing story after story about how perfect, how adorable, and how intelligent their grandchildren are! Our firm helped them create an estate plan where they can leave assets to these perfect little angels over the course of their lives with stipulations as to how and when the funds can be accessed.
Estate planning is for everyone, no matter your situation. We take great pride in creating comprehensive estate plans that will work now and in the future for your beneficiaries. I’d encourage you to give us a call to schedule a time to come meet with any of the attorneys at Morris Hall — it would be our absolute privilege to meet with you, too!
