Leslie was born and raised in New Mexico, and was anxious to return to her hometown, Albuquerque, having lived in the Chicago area for many years. After enduring a few too many harsh Chicago winters, Leslie convinced her husband, Jeff, to raise their twins in the milder climate of Albuquerque, close to Leslie’s family. Now that New Mexico is their permanent home, they enjoy visiting their big family in the Chicago area as often as possible, even in the winter.
Leslie completed her undergraduate studies (B.S. in Psychology, 2001) at DePaul University and law school (J.D., 2005) at The John Marshall Law School, both in Chicago, Illinois. Right out of law school Leslie worked with a global bank in Chicago, in Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities, acting as Custodian and Trustee for Wall Street investment firm clients, where she learned the value of concise communication and a strict eye for detail in a high-volume market.
After returning to Albuquerque, Leslie worked as a commercial litigator with a local Bankruptcy firm for several years before opening her solo practice specializing in estate planning, real estate and transactional law. Leslie has also worked closely with her father’s CPA firm in Albuquerque, advising the firm on many areas of tax and transactional law.
